UNESCO Bernard Maris Chair in Toulouse
Since the start of the 2018 school year, Sciences Po Toulouse has been hosting the Toulouse branch of the UNESCO Bernard Maris Chair in "Economy and Societies". This Chair was born from the joint desire of the School, the ALLISS association and the FMSH (in Paris) to honor this great economist who disappeared during the attack perpetrated against Charlie Hebdo (January 2015) through the actions of promotion of citizen dialogue between economists and the city.
It is funded in particular by the Occitanie Regional Council, the Haute-Garonne Departmental Council and the Paris City Hall, and it welcomes researchers from all over the world for prestigious lectures and conferences.Ron Boschma (University of Utrecht) is the main guest holder of this Academic Team Chair on Economic, Social and Societal Changes Facing Technological and Organizational Innovations. Listed by Thomson Reuters in the top 1% of researchers worldwide, he is an expert with the European Commission on regional innovation policies and S3 (Smart Specialization Strategy).
The work of the Chair aims to perpetuate the research of Bernard Maris on his favorite themes such as ecology, the history of economic thought and economic history, value, wealth, exchange, social justice, cooperation, knowledge, gratuity, etc.
